About Me

 I am a freelance writer, and also a writer of fiction and memoir. I've been a daily newspaper reporter and editor, and a corporate PR advocate, mainly for a hospital. I have an MS in biomedical writing, and a BA in English literature. My two sons are grown, and I live happily in Lewes, Delaware,  where ocean waves and winds and dramatic sunrises and sunsets elevate my spirit and inspire my creativity.

My first fiction short story, "Harry's Pickup," appeared in the Rehoboth Beach Writers Guild anthology Scenes in 2019,  officially launching my fiction writing career. Other stories are in the works. My blog, "Boomer Unchained," appears monthly on the Beebe Healthcare Women's Health Website  beebehealthcare.org/health-hub/womens-health-blog/boomer-unchained. My stories also appear in magazines including Delaware Beach Life. I have won numerous awards, and can share the details if you'd like.

Sometimes, I feel overwhelmed by all that is happening around us.  How do I keep up with it? My family and my friends, their needs and their joys. The politics of our nation, and of our world.  The problems we should fix. The people we should help. I use my writing to understand and to seek answers, to highlight things that are good, or that are merely part of life.  Please join me in this journey of discovery and expression.
